Run a live quiz

Press Go live, put the room code on the big screen and let players join on their phones. You move through the questions, and the results, leaderboards and final podium show as you go.

Go live

  1. Open your quiz and press Go live.
  2. Fix anything the pre-flight check flags, such as a question with no correct answer.
  3. Put the room code and QR on the screen.

Play

  1. Press Start quiz once players have joined.
  2. Press Next to move on; results open automatically when everyone has answered.
  3. Use arrow keys, or your phone as a remote on Pro Plus.

End

After the last question, the podium appears. To stop early, press End and confirm. The room code closes when the quiz ends.

Good to know

  • The room code stays the same for about 3 hours, so you can save a run and play again with the same code. The next launch after you end the quiz gets a new code.
  • Edits you make while the quiz is live reach players straight away.
  • Up to 20 players can join a session on Free, with a warning as you get close, and 100 on Pro. Pro Plus has no limit.
  • Use fullscreen on the big screen so the room sees only the quiz.

How do players join a live quiz?
They open qgplay.live on any phone or laptop and type the 6-character room code, or scan the QR code. They need no app and no account.
Can I control the quiz from my phone?
Yes, on Pro Plus. Pair your phone with a private QR code and it becomes a simple Back and Next remote. On any plan you can press Next or use the arrow keys.
How do I end a quiz early?
Press End and confirm. The quiz stops and the room code closes.
