Quick answerUpdated

What is a good Quizizz alternative in India?

For live sessions with older students and adults, QG Playground is a strong Quizizz alternative in India: it bills in rupees, its AI writes quizzes in Hindi, and it adds timed tests, certificates and skill reports. For school classes, Kahoot!, Blooket and Quizzard are the closest live games.

Blooket and Quizzard are free for 60 and 100 players a game. TestoZa is built for Indian exam-pattern tests, Veda Classroom makes free Indian-language quizzes for schools, and Google Forms and Microsoft Forms cover free self-paced tests. Quizizz itself became Wayground in June 2025, and it's still the better pick for K-12 teachers who rely on its library. Every fact comes from the vendors' own pages, checked on 23 October 2026. Disclosure: we make QG Playground.

Is Quizizz now Wayground?

Yes. Quizizz renamed itself Wayground in June 2025. Old links and join codes still work, and students now join at wayground.com/join or joinmyquiz.com. It's still a gamified quiz and lesson platform for schools. Wayground also added a session mode called Playground, which can make searches confusing: QG Playground is a separate product, made in India by Quiz Granny, and isn't connected to Wayground. Source: Quizizz is now Wayground, checked 23 October 2026.

What does Wayground (formerly Quizizz) offer today?

Wayground is built for schools: quizzes and lessons that students play live with power-ups and a leaderboard, or in their own time as homework, backed by a very large library of teacher-made quizzes. Students join with a code, without accounts. The free Basic plan allows 100 participants per session and stores up to 20 resources, and live sessions take up to 1,000 participants. The individual Super plan was shown to Indian visitors at ₹1,035 a month billed yearly on 23 October 2026, and school and district plans are quoted. It has a Hindi interface, and its AI writes in Hindi and 10 other Indian languages, more Indian languages than any other tool on this page except Veda Classroom. Standards and growth reports come with school and district plans. People look for alternatives when they teach older students or adults, need exam-style tests, or want a live quiz show on a big screen.

How did we compare Quizizz alternatives?

We compared each tool on what teachers, coaching institutes and trainers in India ask us about when they look beyond Wayground: free players per live session, the paid price and its currency, whether students need accounts, live versus self-paced play, exam-style test features such as negative marking, and AI that writes in Hindi or other Indian languages. Every number about another product comes from that vendor's own pricing or help pages, linked under each tool, and was checked on 23 October 2026. Prices are monthly, before GST or VAT. Vendors count free limits differently, so we've kept each vendor's own unit. Before building QG Playground, we used most of these tools at Quiz Granny events, so the notes on how each feels in a room are first-hand; where vendor pages disagree, we've left the claim out. Disclosure: we make QG Playground and list it first, with the same "watch out for" note as every other tool. The full method is on our comparison hub.

Which Quizizz alternatives are worth trying?

Eight tools are worth trying, depending on who you teach and whether you need games, tests or both. For live sessions with older students and adults, billed in rupees with Hindi AI, timed tests and certificates, start with QG Playground. Kahoot! is the classic live game with a large library, and Blooket and Quizzard are free for 60 and 100 players a game. For Indian exam-pattern tests, TestoZa; for free Indian-language quizzes in schools, Veda Classroom; and for free self-paced tests, Google Forms or Microsoft Forms. The chart shows how many players each free plan lets into one live game or session. Wayground's own free plan, for comparison, allows 100 participants per session. Every tool here has a free plan, so you can try your top two with a real group before paying anything.

Quizizz and Wayground alternatives, one by one

1. Is QG Playground a good Quizizz alternative?

QG Playground is best for live quiz shows, polls and timed tests, billed in rupees. QG Playground is a live quiz, poll and assessment platform made in India by Quiz Granny, a quiz company from Bhopal. Players open qgplay.live on any phone, type a room code or scan the QR, and answer while a leaderboard races on the big screen, with no app or account. Granny, the built-in AI, writes a quiz from a topic or your PDF, Word or PowerPoint file, in English, Hindi or both. The free plan covers 20 players a session and 100 a month. Pro is ₹799 a month billed yearly (₹999 monthly) plus GST, for 100 players a session. Pro Plus adds scheduled tests with negative marking, certificates, branding and skill reports, with up to 500 players a session. Against Wayground, it's built as much for adults and older students as for school classes, with timed tests, certificates and skill reports.

Watch out for: It's younger than the big names, with fewer reviews and a smaller ready-made quiz library. Sources: QG Playground pricing · How players join

2. Is Kahoot! a good Quizizz alternative?

Kahoot! is best for game-show quizzes and a very large public library. Kahoot! is the game-show quiz most people already know: questions on the big screen, a game PIN, a countdown and a podium at the end. Players join at kahoot.it in a browser or through the Kahoot! app, and teachers can assign kahoots as self-paced homework. Its biggest strength is the very large library of ready-made public games. The free Go plan allows 10 players per game. School plans start at USD 3 a month billed yearly for 50 players, and work plans at USD 19. Prices are in dollars and other currencies, not rupees. AI quiz creation is mostly on paid plans, Kahoot says its AI's main language is English, and the app isn't in Hindi. Against Wayground, it's the classic live alternative with a large game library, but a much smaller free plan at 10 players a game against Wayground's 100 a session.

3. Is Blooket a good Quizizz alternative?

Blooket is best for arcade-style review games for school classes. Blooket turns review questions into arcade-style games: students answer to earn points inside mini-games such as Gold Quest and Tower Defense. It's popular in middle-school classrooms because the game, not just the quiz, keeps students playing. Students join at play.blooket.com with a game ID, and only the teacher needs an account. The free plan allows 60 players per live game, unlimited question sets and homework up to 14 days ahead. Blooket Plus, billed yearly, raises that to 300 players and adds per-student reports with spreadsheet downloads. There's no built-in AI writer; its help centre points teachers to Khanmigo for AI question sets. Against Wayground, it has more arcade-style game modes that younger students love, though its free plan holds 60 players a game rather than 100 a session.

4. Is Quizzard a good Quizizz alternative?

Quizzard is best for free host-led live trivia. Quizzard is an Indian live-trivia tool from Maru Studios. The host shows multiple-choice, true-or-false and picture questions on a screen, and players join as guests with a 6-character code or QR. A leaderboard appears after every question, with a podium at the end, and scoring rewards speed. It's free for up to 100 players per game, and no paid plans are published yet. You can import questions from a CSV or Excel file. Its AI quiz generator is announced but still on a waitlist, so you write the questions yourself. Against Wayground, it's a simpler free trivia tool for up to 100 players a game, made in India, without the lesson library or homework mode. You write your own questions for now.

5. Is TestoZa a good Quizizz alternative?

TestoZa is best for Indian exam-style online tests in Hindi or English. TestoZa is a Chennai startup from the IIT Madras incubator, built for Indian exam-style tests: JEE, NEET and SSC patterns, negative marking and timed papers. Teachers turn a PDF, images, text or a YouTube video into questions with AI, in Hindi, English or both, and students join with a 6-digit code without accounts. Tests run live at a fixed time or as self-paced links, with a rank list, per-question analysis and report cards afterwards. Pricing is in rupees: ₹49 for 7 days, ₹149 for 30 days or ₹799 a year, according to its own guides. Against Wayground, it's a better fit for exam-pattern tests with negative marking and timed papers for coaching classes, rather than gamified practice.

6. Is Veda Classroom a good Quizizz alternative?

Veda Classroom is best for free AI quizzes and papers in Indian languages for schools. Veda Classroom is a free, made-in-India classroom app that generates quizzes, worksheets and question papers from a topic, a chapter PDF, a photo of a page or a YouTube video. It works in 42 languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Urdu, and writes questions in the language you pick. Students join with a class code or a WhatsApp link, without accounts. It has a Kahoot-style live mode with a leaderboard, homework and progress reports, and it's one of the few tools here that names India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act in its policies. Against Wayground, it's free and covers more Indian languages, but it's newer and publishes no limits, so test it before relying on it for a whole school.

7. Is Google Forms a good Quizizz alternative?

Google Forms is best for free self-graded quizzes and surveys. Google Forms is free and most teachers already know it. Quiz mode grades multiple-choice answers automatically, shows each respondent's answers and summarises frequently missed questions. People answer through a link, usually without signing in unless you limit them to one response. It's the simplest choice for homework, entrance checks and post-training tests where nobody plays at the same time. What it doesn't do is live play: there's no big-screen mode, countdown or leaderboard. Making a quiz with Gemini needs a paid Google Workspace or Google AI plan, and Gemini in Forms doesn't support Hindi. Against Wayground, it drops the game entirely but costs nothing for self-paced tests, which is often enough for homework checks.

8. Is Microsoft Forms a good Quizizz alternative?

Microsoft Forms is best for quizzes and surveys inside Microsoft 365. Microsoft Forms is the quiz and survey tool inside Microsoft 365, so many Indian companies, colleges and schools already have it. It grades quizzes automatically, exports results to Excel, and supports Hindi along with Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, Assamese, Odia and Konkani. A free personal account takes 200 responses per form, and work and school accounts go far higher. Present mode shows live results with a QR code, but there's no leaderboard or game layer, and Copilot drafts quizzes only with a Copilot licence. Against Wayground, it suits schools already on Microsoft 365 that need self-paced tests in Hindi or another Indian language, though there's no game or leaderboard.

When is Wayground still the better pick?

Wayground is still the better pick in three situations. If you teach a K-12 class and rely on its very large library of teacher-made quizzes and lessons, nothing on this list matches it. If you need AI quizzes in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu or another Indian language beyond Hindi, its AI covers Hindi and 10 other Indian languages. And if your school already pays for a Wayground school or district plan, you already have its standards and growth reports. Its free plan also allows 100 participants per session, five times QG Playground's free 20, and the individual Super plan is billed in rupees for Indian visitors. For coaching institutes, colleges and corporate trainers, the tools above are often a closer fit. We'd rather you pick the right tool than switch and regret it.

Where is QG Playground strongest?

QG Playground is strongest in two places: what happens after the quiz, and quizzes that run without a host. We say that having used most of these tools before building our own. After a quiz, the skills report on Pro Plus shows a heatmap of people against skills, places each person in a band, Exceeds, Meets, Approaching or Below, marks who is ready and who needs practice, and tracks improvement from the first run to the latest. That turns a score into a decision about who needs a refresher. A scheduled quiz, also on Pro Plus, opens and closes at times you set and goes out as one link. People take it on their own phone in their own time, with timers, negative marking and question banks, and nobody has to host or gather the group. Granny, the AI, writes questions using the house rules Quiz Granny's quizmasters follow at national-level competitions and in more than 300 live quiz events, then fact-checks them.

What does QG Playground look like in a session?

QG Playground in 70 seconds (YouTube, published 10 October 2026).

For coaching classes and colleges weighing a move from Wayground, this 70-second film shows the whole flow. The film shows the whole loop in order. Granny, the built-in AI, writes a quiz from a topic or a document and tags each question with a skill. The host goes live, players join from their phones with a room code, with no app and no sign-up, and a countdown, streaks, lifelines and a racing leaderboard keep the room playing. The same quiz can then be scheduled so people take it in their own time, with AI proctoring for high-stakes tests on Enterprise. Afterwards, skill-gap reports show where each learner needs help, and reports and certificates go to every inbox or export to Excel and PDF.
