For sessions that mix polls and word clouds with scored quizzes, QG Playground is a strong Slido alternative in India: it bills in rupees, its AI writes in Hindi, and its free plan allows 20 players a session. For polls and Q&A in big talks, Mentimeter is the closest match.
AhaSlides is a lower-cost presentation tool, Wooclap and Poll Everywhere suit training rooms and lecture halls, and Microsoft Forms works for companies on Microsoft 365. Slido is still the better pick for moderated Q&A inside Webex or Teams, and for events of 5,000 or more. Slido removed Hindi from its supported languages in June 2024. Every fact comes from the vendors' own pages, checked on 23 October 2026. Disclosure: we make QG Playground.

Which Slido alternatives are worth trying?
Seven tools are worth trying, and the right one depends on whether you need Q&A, polls, quizzes or all three. For sessions that mix polls and word clouds with scored quizzes, billed in rupees with Hindi AI, start with QG Playground. Mentimeter is the closest match for polls and Q&A in big talks, and AhaSlides is a lower-cost presentation tool. Wooclap and Poll Everywhere suit training rooms and large lecture halls, Kahoot! suits audiences who want a game, and Microsoft Forms fits companies on Microsoft 365. For reference, Slido's free Basic plan allows 100 participants per event, counted as every device that joins, with up to 3 polls and 1 quiz. Every tool here has a free plan, so you can try your top two with a real group before paying anything.

Every competitor detail is from the vendor's own pricing or help pages, checked on 23 October 2026. Prices exclude tax and change often, so confirm on the vendor's site before you buy. All trademarks belong to their owners; QG Playground is not affiliated with any of these companies.
Free-plan audience limits from each vendor's own plan pages, checked 23 October 2026. The units differ, per session, per month, per event, per poll or per class, so read the label on each bar, not just its length.
How did we compare Slido alternatives?
We compared each tool on what HR teams, event organisers and trainers in India ask us about when Slido's free plan runs out: how many participants each free plan allows and how it counts them, the paid price and its currency, Q&A, polls and quizzes, and Hindi support. Every number about another product comes from that vendor's own pricing or help pages, linked under each tool, and was checked on 23 October 2026. Prices are monthly, before GST or VAT. Vendors count free limits differently, so we've kept each vendor's own unit. Before building QG Playground, we used most of these tools at Quiz Granny events, so the notes on how each feels in a room are first-hand; where vendor pages disagree, we've left the claim out. Disclosure: we make QG Playground and list it first, with the same "watch out for" note as every other tool. The full method is on our comparison hub.
Which tools can replace Slido?
1. Is QG Playground a good Slido alternative?
QG Playground is best for live quiz shows, polls and timed tests, billed in rupees. QG Playground is a live quiz, poll and assessment platform made in India by Quiz Granny, a quiz company from Bhopal. Players open qgplay.live on any phone, type a room code or scan the QR, and answer while a leaderboard races on the big screen, with no app or account. Granny, the built-in AI, writes a quiz from a topic or your PDF, Word or PowerPoint file, in English, Hindi or both. The free plan covers 20 players a session and 100 a month. Pro is ₹799 a month billed yearly (₹999 monthly) plus GST, for 100 players a session. Pro Plus adds scheduled tests with negative marking, certificates, branding and skill reports, with up to 500 players a session. Against Slido, it runs full quiz shows as well as polls and word clouds, with Hindi AI and rupee billing, though Slido is stronger for moderated Q&A.

2. Is Mentimeter a good Slido alternative?
Mentimeter is best for interactive presentations with polls, word clouds and Q&A. Mentimeter is built for presenters. You build a deck of interactive slides, such as polls, word clouds, open questions, Q&A and quiz questions, and your audience answers at menti.com with a code. It's polished for large talks, town halls and lectures, and paid plans have no audience cap, though quiz slides take up to 2,000 live players. The free plan allows 50 participants a month in total. Basic costs USD 11.99 per presenter a month billed yearly, and education plans start at USD 8.99. The answering screen is available in Hindi, but the editor is in English, German, Spanish and Portuguese only. Against Slido, it's the closest match for polls, word clouds and Q&A in big talks, with more slide types and a deck-style editor that presenters find familiar.

AhaSlides is best for low-cost presentations that mix quizzes, polls and Q&A. AhaSlides sits between Mentimeter and Kahoot!. One presentation can mix quiz questions with a leaderboard, polls, word clouds, spinner wheels and Q&A, and you can share it as a self-paced quiz for homework. Participants join at ahaslides.com with a code or QR, usually without an account. The free plan allows 50 participants, with up to 5 quiz slides and 3 poll slides per presentation. Essential costs USD 7.95 a month billed yearly for an audience of 100, and Pro raises that to 2,500. Its AI builds slides from a prompt or a PDF, PowerPoint, Word or Excel file, and the interface comes in over 30 languages, none of them Indian. Against Slido, it offers cheaper presentations with more quiz slides, and its self-paced mode works for follow-ups after the meeting.

Wooclap is best for lecture-hall interaction for universities and training. Wooclap is designed for university lecturers and corporate trainers who want students to answer during a class. It offers more than twenty question types, a competition mode with a top-10 leaderboard, attendance tracking and per-participant analytics. Participants join in a browser with a QR or event code. The free Starter plan allows only 5 questions a month, so it works as a trial rather than for weekly use. Education Basic costs USD 8 a month billed yearly, and self-paced activities and exports start there. AI generation from a topic, document, link or video is on Pro and campus plans only, and events take up to 1,000 participants. Against Slido, it has more question types for training rooms and lecture halls, though the free plan is tiny.
Poll Everywhere is best for polling inside slides for big lectures and company events. Poll Everywhere is one of the oldest audience-response tools, used heavily in lecture halls and company events. Questions appear inside PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote, and people respond at PollEv.com in a browser or by SMS. Its Competitions feature turns multiple-choice questions into trivia with a live leaderboard. The free plan stops accepting responses after 40 per poll, so it suits small groups. The Present plan costs USD 10 a month billed yearly, and education plans start at USD 9. AI drafts multiple-choice polls from a prompt or pasted text, and on-screen joining instructions can appear in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and Urdu. Against Slido, it's the long-standing choice for polling inside existing slides with very large audiences, and it accepts SMS responses when Wi-Fi is weak.

Kahoot! is best for game-show quizzes and a very large public library. Kahoot! is the game-show quiz most people already know: questions on the big screen, a game PIN, a countdown and a podium at the end. Players join at kahoot.it in a browser or through the Kahoot! app, and teachers can assign kahoots as self-paced homework. Its biggest strength is the very large library of ready-made public games. The free Go plan allows 10 players per game. School plans start at USD 3 a month billed yearly for 50 players, and work plans at USD 19. Prices are in dollars and other currencies, not rupees. AI quiz creation is mostly on paid plans, Kahoot says its AI's main language is English, and the app isn't in Hindi. Against Slido, pick it when your audience wants a game rather than a poll, and when the podium is the point of the session.

Microsoft Forms is best for quizzes and surveys inside Microsoft 365. Microsoft Forms is the quiz and survey tool inside Microsoft 365, so many Indian companies, colleges and schools already have it. It grades quizzes automatically, exports results to Excel, and supports Hindi along with Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, Assamese, Odia and Konkani. A free personal account takes 200 responses per form, and work and school accounts go far higher. Present mode shows live results with a QR code, but there's no leaderboard or game layer, and Copilot drafts quizzes only with a Copilot licence. Against Slido, it suits companies on Microsoft 365 that need quick live results in Hindi or another Indian language, without a game or Q&A.

Slido is still the better pick in three situations. If your main need is moderated audience Q&A in meetings and conferences, with upvotes and a moderator queue, it's built for exactly that. If you run sessions inside Webex or Microsoft Teams and want polls without leaving the call, its integrations save time. And if you need very large events, Enterprise handles 5,000 participants, or 20,000 with an add-on. Its free plan also allows 100 participants per event, five times QG Playground's free 20 per session, and its AI can draft polls and quizzes from a topic or your slides. If your sessions are trainings, town halls with a quiz round, or classes in Hindi, the alternatives above are worth a free trial first. We'd rather you pick the right tool than switch and regret it.
Entry paid plans in US dollars per month, billed yearly, before tax, from each vendor's pricing page, checked 23 October 2026. Slido sells annual and one-time event plans on slido.com/pricing, so it isn't on this chart. For comparison, QG Playground Pro is ₹799 a month billed yearly, plus GST.A live session in QG Playground: the room answers on their phones while results update on the big screen.
Where is QG Playground strongest?
QG Playground is strongest in two places: what happens after the quiz, and quizzes that run without a host. We say that having used most of these tools before building our own. After a quiz, the skills report on Pro Plus shows a heatmap of people against skills, places each person in a band, Exceeds, Meets, Approaching or Below, marks who is ready and who needs practice, and tracks improvement from the first run to the latest. That turns a score into a decision about who needs a refresher. A scheduled quiz, also on Pro Plus, opens and closes at times you set and goes out as one link. People take it on their own phone in their own time, with timers, negative marking and question banks, and nobody has to host or gather the group. Granny, the AI, writes questions using the house rules Quiz Granny's quizmasters follow at national-level competitions and in more than 300 live quiz events, then fact-checks them.
A QG Playground skills report (Pro Plus): who is strong where, skill by skill, and who needs a refresher.
What does QG Playground look like in a session?
QG Playground in 70 seconds (YouTube, published 10 October 2026).
For HR teams planning a town hall with a quiz round, this 70-second film shows the flow from questions to results. The film shows the whole loop in order. Granny, the built-in AI, writes a quiz from a topic or a document and tags each question with a skill. The host goes live, players join from their phones with a room code, with no app and no sign-up, and a countdown, streaks, lifelines and a racing leaderboard keep the room playing. The same quiz can then be scheduled so people take it in their own time, with AI proctoring for high-stakes tests on Enterprise. Afterwards, skill-gap reports show where each learner needs help, and reports and certificates go to every inbox or export to Excel and PDF.
