Which is cheaper in India, Kahoot or Mentimeter?

For a teacher, Kahoot! is cheaper: Kahoot!+ Bronze costs USD 3 a month billed yearly for 50 players. For a company, it depends on audience size. Mentimeter Basic costs USD 11.99 per presenter a month billed yearly with no audience cap, while Kahoot! Pro Start costs USD 19 a month billed yearly for 50 players and Pro Plus USD 39 for 1,000. Neither shows prices in rupees: Kahoot! charges in US dollars, euros, pounds and other currencies, and Mentimeter in US dollars. GST or VAT is added on top, and your bank may charge a fee for paying in foreign currency. QG Playground is billed in rupees with a GST invoice, with Pro at ₹799 a month billed yearly for 100 players a session. Prices checked 23 October 2026.

Which is better for teachers?

For most teachers, Kahoot! is better for revision games and exit quizzes, and Mentimeter is better for lectures. Kahoot! keeps younger students playing because it's a game, and its very large library of ready-made kahoots saves preparation time; teachers can also assign them as homework. Mentimeter suits lectures where you want the whole class to answer an open question, vote or post a word without the pressure of a race. If your students are more comfortable in Hindi, neither is ideal: Kahoot!'s app isn't in Hindi, and Mentimeter's editor isn't either, although its answering screen is. For a class of 40, Kahoot!'s free Go plan of 10 players a game is too small, so most teachers end up on a paid plan. Wayground, QG Playground, TestoZa and Veda Classroom all write questions in Hindi.

Which is better for corporate training and town halls?

For town halls, Mentimeter is usually better; for training energisers and knowledge checks, Kahoot! usually is. In a town hall, polls, word clouds and Q&A from hundreds of employees matter more than scores, and Mentimeter's paid plans have no audience cap. In training, a competitive quiz lifts the room and shows the trainer who has understood the material, which is where Kahoot! shines. Many trainers end up needing both, which means two subscriptions in two foreign currencies. Mentimeter Basic costs USD 11.99 per presenter a month billed yearly with no audience cap, while Kahoot! Pro Plus costs USD 39 a month billed yearly for 1,000 players. A single tool that runs a poll and a scored quiz in the same session, such as QG Playground or AhaSlides, saves paying for two. QG Playground's skills report on Pro Plus, shown below, maps each person against each skill after a quiz.

When should I use QG Playground instead of Kahoot or Mentimeter?

Use QG Playground when you want Kahoot!-style quiz shows and Mentimeter-style polls in one session, billed in rupees. It was built by Quiz Granny, a quiz company that hosts live quiz events for companies, colleges and schools across India. It runs quiz shows with a racing leaderboard and a podium, plus polls, word clouds and ratings, and the free plan allows 20 players a session. Its AI writes quizzes in English, Hindi or both from a topic or your documents, and Pro Plus adds scheduled tests, certificates and skill reports. Pro is ₹799 a month billed yearly, plus GST, for 100 players a session, with a GST invoice. Players join at qgplay.live with a room code or QR, with no app and no account. It's younger than both, with a smaller library and fewer reviews, so try it on a real session before you switch.

QG Playground in 70 seconds (YouTube, published 10 October 2026).

To see quiz shows and polls in one product, watch this 70-second film. The film shows the whole loop in order. Granny, the built-in AI, writes a quiz from a topic or a document and tags each question with a skill. The host goes live, players join from their phones with a room code, with no app and no sign-up, and a countdown, streaks, lifelines and a racing leaderboard keep the room playing. The same quiz can then be scheduled so people take it in their own time, with AI proctoring for high-stakes tests on Enterprise. Afterwards, skill-gap reports show where each learner needs help, and reports and certificates go to every inbox or export to Excel and PDF.

Where is QG Playground strongest?

QG Playground is strongest in two places: what happens after the quiz, and quizzes that run without a host. We say that having used most of these tools before building our own. After a quiz, the skills report on Pro Plus shows a heatmap of people against skills, places each person in a band, Exceeds, Meets, Approaching or Below, marks who is ready and who needs practice, and tracks improvement from the first run to the latest. That turns a score into a decision about who needs a refresher. A scheduled quiz, also on Pro Plus, opens and closes at times you set and goes out as one link. People take it on their own phone in their own time, with timers, negative marking and question banks, and nobody has to host or gather the group. Granny, the AI, writes questions using the house rules Quiz Granny's quizmasters follow at national-level competitions and in more than 300 live quiz events, then fact-checks them.
